Searcher Baja Whale Tour #2 – February 21 – March 4, 2025, Days 7 – 11

Hello Whale Watchers!

Day 7 – February 27, 2025

Great weather and excellent humpback action around the cape. Plenty of marine life to watch, with whales breaching and fluking.

Day 8 – February 28, 2025

We started off the morning exploring the mangroves at Isla San Jose for our birders, followed by a hike at Isla San Francisco. The day wrapped up with an incredible sighting of blue whales in the San Jose Channel. We estimated there were between 15 to 20 animals in the area today!

Day 9 – March 1, 2025

We started the morning at Punta Colorado in beautiful weather, followed by a lunchtime skiff ride around Las Animas to check out the Guadalupe fur seals. Whale sightings were sparse, but we did spot a few humpbacks and a couple of red-billed tropicbirds. Our day ended at Puerto gato for sunset and dinner.

Day 10 – March 2, 2025

We started the morning with a walk and snorkel at Agua Verde, where our keen birders spotted a Xanthus hummingbird. The day wrapped up with more fluking blue whales, an estimated 10 to 12 animals around Isla Catalina. We anchored up behind Catalina for our back deck BBQ.

Day 11 – March 3, 2025

On our last full day, we swam with the sea lions in the morning at Los Islotes. The day ended around Punta Pescador looking at more blue whales and mobula rays

Day 12 – March 4, 2025

We arrived in Cabo San Lucus early in the morning. All passengers debarked the boat. The was another great trip in the books!
